Lucy (Booth) Adams, 1821-1879

1860 census
              of Crawford County, Pa.

Most records indicate that Lucy Booth was born in Vermont in 1821 but nothing is known of her parents (speculation: perhaps one of Lucy's sons was named after her father??). Lucy married Jonas Adams about 1839 in Vermont, and by 1848 they had moved to Pennsylvania. They are listed in the 1860 census of Beaver Twp., Crawford Co., Pa. (above). Lucy was 38 years old in 1860 and had seven children ranging in age from two to twenty years. She has not been located in the 1870 census but had moved to Day Twp., Montcalm County, Michigan, shortly before her death on 13 December 1879. She was 58 years old when she died of "dropsy", and according to the 1880 census mortality schedule she was living with her son Andrew at the time. There are no known photos of Lucy but below is a photo of her son, Andrew, when he was living at Sidney, Montcalm Co. (he later moved nearby to Ronald Twp., Ionia Co., where he died):
