George Henry Eitterman,
1855-1925
George was born on 2 November 1855 in Cattaraugus
Co., New York, son
of John and Roby (Randall) Eitterman/Ettiman (George used the name "Eitterman" while
his brother used the name "Etiman" -- their father
was listed as "Ettiman" in the 1855 census). George's father died when George was
young. In 1860 at the age of 5 years old George was living with his grandparents, Reuben and
Margaret Randall. Sometime during the 1860's he
moved to Montcalm Co., Mich., to live with his
mother and step-father. During the 1870 census
George was living with his step-father (his mother
had died in 1869). The photo below of George and his
parents was apparently taken in the late 1850's
shortly before his father died:
George
married Addie Adelphia Greenhoe on 28 April 1878 in
Sheridan, Montcalm Co., Mich., daughter of Henry
Greenhoe and Hannah Wise. She was born 19 October 1861
in Ohio, and died 27 March 1950 in Ionia, Mich. (at
the home of her daughter, Addie). George was a farmer, auctioneer, and a
township commissioner for 7 years. George died 9 July 1925 in Evergreen Twp.,
Montcalm Co., Mich..
