Anna Rose (Lund) Adams, 1918-2013
born on April 9, 1918, in Sidney Twp., Montcalm Co.,
Michigan, and was the third of six children of Carl and
Estella (Haysmer) Lund. She was born in the home of her
grandmother, Anna (Martensdotter) Lund, located on W.
Hansen Rd. northwest of Sheridan. Until Anna was about 10
years old she and her family lived on a rental farm
belonging to George Righeimer at 1992 W. Hansen Rd. (the
first house west of her grandmothers -- her grandmother's
house is still standing but Righeimer's house is no longer
her older sister, Beatrice, and her brother, Claud:
siblings walked to Courter School on S. Holland Rd. about
a half mile south of their home on W. Hansen Road. About
1928 Anna's parents purchased a farm at 1185 W. County
Farm Rd. (Anna then had to walk about a half mile north to
Courter School). She later attended Sheridan High School.
on West Sidney Rd. was owned and operated by her parents
until about 1950 when it was taken over by Anna's brother,
Leland Lund, and later by Leland's son, Randy, who now
owns and operates the farm. Anna married Raymond Adams in 1937 (see
his biography page for more information about where they
lived after they married).
